Running William
A Pygame Game

Running William is a Python-based game developed by a team of Kansas State University computer science students during the 2024 Hackathon. The game was designed, programmed, and completed over the course of a single weekend.

01 · Overview

Running With William

Running William grew from an earlier project I started called Mia's Game, which was an attempt to recreate the style of the original Super Mario using Python.

For the hackathon, the idea evolved into a new game with original artwork, gameplay, and a new concept developed by the team.

02 · My Role

Leading The Development.

I helped organize and lead the team throughout the development process. With only a weekend to complete the project, we divided responsibilities between programming, game logic, art, and testing.

06 · Results

Built in a weekend.

In a single weekend, the team produced a playable Pygame with original artwork, gameplay, and functional mechanics. The project demonstrated our ability to quickly move from an idea to a working game under a strict deadline.
